Today's the day I leave for India! I received a text from Lufthansa, saying that my flight from Chicago is delayed 35 minutes, which is totally fine with me because it means my 6-hour layover in Frankfurt will now only be 5 1/2 hours. Lauren asked me to take a picture of the "rocket ship with all the balls" if I see it because that's the one thing she remembers about FRA.
I've been thinking a lot about travel these last few days and decided to look up some good quotes. There are hundreds out there, sometimes accompanied by "inspirational images." So many good quotes to choose from, but this one from Anthony Bourdain rang especially true to me:
I've been lucky to have lived in and visited places all over the world, and I always want to see more of it. It keeps getting smaller and smaller the more places I go. It's important, I feel, to be nudged out of your comfort zone every now and then, and I am pretty sure that this time I'll be thrown out of it head first!
I can't pinpoint exactly why I want to go to India. The food ... the culture ... the architecture ... the colors ... the people ... You could say that about just about anywhere, I guess. But for some reason India's been tugging at me for a long time now, and it's time for me to go. The interesting thing is that I already know I'll be going back again.

Travel isn't always pretty. It isn't always comfortable. Sometimes it hurts, it even breaks your heart. But that's okay. The journey changes you; it should change you. It leaves marks on your memory, on your consciousness, on your heart, and on your body. You take something with you. Hopefully, you leave something good behind.
